Welcome to Belaire Motel

Situated just off Interstate 96 in the quiet residential neighborhood of Norton Shores, Michigan, Belaire Motel offers a humble yet welcoming respite for travelers seeking comfort without excess. With a solid 3.6 rating, this family-run establishment blends simplicity and warmth, embodying the spirit of hospitality through the genuine care of its owner.

Guests repeatedly highlight the personal touch brought by Joan, the owner, whose kindness and attentiveness transform an ordinary stay into a memorable experience. The motel’s rooms are notable for their cleanliness, cozy quilted bedspreads, and thoughtful additions such as extra pillows and small tables, creating an environment that feels more like a cherished home away from home than a standard roadside stop.

A standout feature of Belaire Motel is its inviting rear patio area. Outfitted with comfortable furnishings, a grill, a TV, and even a fire pit beneath a canopy, this space encourages relaxation and socializing under open skies. The opportunity to bring your own food and grill adds a layer of autonomy and charm that large chain hotels often lack. The ambiance here is peaceful, ideal for unwinding after a day exploring nearby attractions like Mona Lake Park or Hoffmaster State Park along Lake Michigan.

Though modest, the motel offers essential amenities such as free Wi-Fi—albeit with some connectivity limitations—and complimentary parking. Each room includes a kitchen, a convenient feature for families or guests who prefer self-catering options. While there is no on-site restaurant, fitness center, or airport shuttle service, Belaire Motel’s location just minutes from Muskegon County Airport ensures accessibility for travelers.

Based on guests’ accounts, Belaire Motel embodies a low-key charm rooted in warmth and genuine care. It is not without its minor imperfections, such as occasional housekeeping misses and spotty Wi-Fi, but these are overshadowed by the hospitality and a snug, welcoming atmosphere. For those seeking an intimate, friendly place to stay near Lake Michigan’s scenic shores, Belaire Motel presents an authentic, affordable haven, where comfort meets kindness in a quiet Michigan town.

Joan is the best. She makes you feel at home. The rooms are clean and affordable. This little gem of a motel has a nice place in back with patio furnishings, a grill, a TV, a fire pit and a canopy. You can bring your own food and grill out and relax. Very quite.

The owner is the nicest person. We arrived late in the night, after 1am and were treated like family. Check out is at 11 which is great. The room was very nice and had cute quilted bed spreads. We definitely enjoyed our stay even though it was for less than 12hrs.

This place is like a home away from home. Very comfortable, quiet and welcoming. The owner is a real gem - friendly and warm. The room was very clean and well appointed with quilts, extra pillows, dust ruffle and a table and chairs. There is a beautiful patio area around the back with grills, comfortable seating and lawn game areas. We even forgot to leave the key when we left, but called her and she was very understanding. We mailed it to her when we got to a post office a couple of days later. If we ever go through Muskegon, Mich. again and need a room, this is where we will head. Nice place.

Its really really nice inside. It's almost like a hotel, they have nice breakfast, the owner is really nice, caring, and very attentive! Our only (small) issue is that, the housekeepers didn't do our beds, nor remove our garbage bag (from their canister). And the wifi doesn't really work, it only works when you stand near the office. Other than that, the housekeepers are nice, and left us towels. And the owner is nice as well!
